A SPECIAL
PERSON IN MY LIFE

A special
person in my life is my mum. My mum is tall and pretty, with brown hair and
brown eyes. Her name is Vicky and I love
her very much.
She’s hard
working because she works a lot of hours not only in her job but also in the
house. She’s also ambitious because she wants one day to travel all over the
world. She’s kind and funny as well. I love listening to her jokes!
She likes
doing many things like cooking, travelling and reading books. She likes sports,
too!!! Amazing! She enjoys surprising us and this is what I like the most. She dislikes singing, watching TV and eating
vegetables.
I think she
is the best mother ever because she is kind and lovable. She cares about us and
this is what matters. I will always try to help her whenever she needs me
because she deserves it.

My grandpa
is the special person in my life because he is cool. I love him because he’s
kind with everybody.
His name is
George. He hasn’t got any hair but he’s got a beard. He’s tall and thin with
brown eyes. He is the most lovable person I have ever known. He’s cheerful and a very clever man, too.
He likes
driving his car and playing board games with me. A strange thing for an old man
like him is that he enjoys using his computer.
I chose to
write about him because I love him and I would like to be like him when I grow
up.

My family
This is a unique writing piece of a 10 yr old Greek student. Anna-Maria is in A Class at the Papaeliou Schools of Foreign Languages at the Nikea school. Her writing stands out not only for her native-like use of the language but also for her ability to convey her true emotions towards her immediate family.

I had a dream

I had a really strange dream last night. I was a fairy and I lived in a mushroom. My dress was magic. There were lots of fairies with me who lived in other mushrooms.One day, while I was playing "catch the ball" with my pet butterfly next to the big lake, I saw a mermaid swimming around. I jumped in and I became a mermaid, too. I followed her but she started swimming very fast. Now, I was at the bottom of the lake. There was a city full of mermaids. There were cafeterias, shops and restaurants. I swam out of the lake and something weird happened. I became a witch.
Suddenly, a dragon showed up in the village nearby. I went to kill him because it terrified the people and I knew that it was going to destroy the fairy mushrooms and the mermaid city. Unfortunately, mum called me and I woke up! I was really sad because my dream was very interesting.

The Giant Panda

Giant pandas are black and white bears that live in bamboo forests in central China. Their scientific name is “Ailuropoda melanoleuca”. They are very recognized—but the rarest—animals in the world and they symbolize endangered species and conservation efforts.
There are only 1,600 giant pandas that survive in the mountain forests of central China. More than 300 pandas live in zoos and breeding centers around the world; most of these pandas are in China.
Giant pandas bears have a body typical of bears. They have a massive head, heavy body, short tail and rounded ears. The fur of the giant panda is thick and wooly and it keeps it warm in the cool forests of its habitat. The color is white with black eye patches, ears, legs, feet, chest, and shoulders.
The panda's diet is over 99% bamboo. A typical animal eats half the day 12.5 kilograms of bamboo, but it will sometimes eat birds or rodents as well. They may climb as high as 4 klm to feed on higher slopes in the summer season. Also they are skilled tree-climbers and efficient swimmers. In zoos, giant pandas eat bamboo, sugar cane, rice gruel, a special high-fiber biscuit, carrots, apples, and sweet potatoes.
The lifespan of a wild Panda is about 25 years or more. A wild panda spends much of its day resting, feeding, and seeking food. Unlike other bears from temperate climates, giant pandas do not hibernate.
The mother panda only has one baby every two years. Panda babies are very small, pink, hairless, and blind when they are born. They do not open their eyes until they are six weeks old and they don’t walk until three months old. They may stay with their mothers for up to three years.
Pandas are almost becoming extinct. People should realize that Pandas are such great creatures and unless they do something to protect them, they will be threatened with extinction.
The woodpecker

Woodpeckers are climbing birds which live in woody regions all over the world except Australia and Magadascar. They have got a hard tail that they use it as a seat. Their colour is between black, green and white. In addition to this, they dispose a long neck which helps them to find easier food. Woodpeckers are solitary animals and apart from the period of reproduction they avoid to hunt together in the same place. They are useful animals for the trees as with opening holes they lighten the dead parts of the trees and they clean them of quantities of insects which discomfort them. Hunters don't hunt them because they aren't useful to them. Finally, the black woodpecker is one of the most famous animals which is endangered!

Hello! My name is Anastasia and my superhero is Ice Woman. She is from Ice Planet and she is very strong.
Ice Woman can throw ice, she can freeze things with her look and she can control ice. She can fly and become invisible. She can also see in the dark and she can go through walls. She is very strong and she has got big iron hairpins. She has got a scarf and a belt that it can also be a whip to hit her enemies. Her suit is blue and very pretty and she has got a mask that hides her face.
On her planet there are a lot of ice superheroes. Her mum and her dad were superheroes at her age. I wish I was a superhero, too.
My Superhero’s name is Flexible Man. He has got a special suit, a mask, gloves and glasses. He has also got flexible arms and legs. All his body is flexible!
My favourite superhero is "Bad Boy". He is twenty years old. He is very bad. He has got a snake. His snake's name is "Good Boy". It is ten years old.
He has also got magic weapons. Some of them are the two black masks and the iron glove. He becomes invisible when he puts on the black magic cloak.
My superhero can fly, he can see in the dark and through walls. He can lift cars because he is very strong. He can listen very well so he knows everything. He can drive fast but he can't swim very fast.
Look! My superhero is saving the world!

He has four arms, he uses automatic guns and throws laser beams. He is very strong and he can also lift cars.
He wears a black mask and a red cape.
His big enemies are the Superevils!!!

Hi, I’m Peter. My imaginary superhero is Moneye Jack. He was the first superhero in the world. He lost his eye in an explosion.
His power is his super speed. He can run faster that his shadow. His worst enemy is the electric man. He is from Europe.
He has got a hat and an eyepatch, his horse and his weapons. In his hideout, he’s got a big collection of guns and other weapons. There are handguns, shot guns, automatic weapons, rocket launchers, machine guns, sniper riffles and more. So it’s a very big collection.
He lives in Chicago, America, but he chases money everywhere. He always helps people when they are in trouble. Jack is an amazing superhero!

My Superhero - A' Class

My favourite super hero is Skull. He is one hundred and twelve years old. He has a very scary scull.
He has got nine weapons. One of his favourite weapons is a strong glove and he has got a snake but he hasn’t got a mask or an iron costume. He has got black boots and a black shepherd’s cloak.
He can see in the darkness and through walls. He can listen very well and lift cars. He can ride his motorbike fast.
Look! My favourite super hero is saving the world from monsters and I want to be a super hero too.

New Skydive World Record
Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner jumps from more than 24 miles above Earth, breaking the speed of sound before he releases his parachute. The 43-year-old broke the record for highest jump set by Joe Kittinger at 19.5 miles in 1960. Kittinger was in the control room in Roswell, New Mexico, together with Baumgartner's family
